Corrections Policy

Last updated: July 2026.

We work hard to keep the advice on this site accurate, but no one gets everything right every time. When we find an error, or you point one out, here is how we deal with it.

1. Our commitment

We aim for content that is accurate, current and well researched. If a factual, technical or typographical error is found, we will correct it promptly and openly rather than quietly hoping no one noticed.

2. Reporting an error

If you spot something wrong, please tell us through our contact form. It helps if you include:

  • The page or article where you saw it
  • What you believe is incorrect
  • Any source or detail that supports the correction

3. How we review it

We check the report against what we know from the trade and, where needed, against manufacturer information or the relevant standard. We then decide whether the page needs a correction, a clarification, or no change.

4. How we correct it

Where a correction is warranted we update the page. For anything significant that could have misled a reader, we note that the page has been updated so the change is transparent rather than hidden.

5. Timescales

We aim to acknowledge a report within a couple of working days and to make any agreed correction as soon as we reasonably can after that. Clear factual fixes are made quickly; anything needing research may take a little longer.
